Chennai, Nov 6:

AIADMK general secretary and former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday strongly condemned the arrest of party propaganda deputy secretary and former Madurai Deputy Mayor Mannan, accusing the ruling TVK government of misusing the police department to file fabricated cases against the opposition.
In a strongly worded post on social media platform X, Palaniswami described the police action as a shameful political vendetta aimed at intimidating opposition cadres. Launching a sharp counter-offensive against TVK’s poaching allegations, Palaniswami claimed that the ruling party itself had indulged in horse-trading ahead of assuming power by coercing and abducting an AMMK legislator belonging to the NDA coalition to secure signatures.
Taking a swipe at the government’s functioning, Palaniswami remarked: “Holding the reins of power, they are casting nets for AIADMK legislators in a manner that repulses the public, asking whether Fort St. George is the Secretariat or a branch office of Panaiyur, enacting dramas of ‘resignation on the lower floor, joining on the upper floor’.” He urged the TVK administration to stop engaging in petty political games and focus on governance.
