19 participants injured in Palamedu jallikattu where 165 bulls were released

Chennai: Nineteen participants have been injured in the Palamedu jallikattu sport, according to reports reaching here.

Palamedu, in Madurai district, is famous for its jallikattu, and draws participants in large numbers.

The sport began this morning, watched by a large number of spectators.

Reports say that so far 165 bulls have been released from the vadivasal and that 19 persons have been injured.

Allowing the valour sport of Tamilnadu after a huge agitation on the sands of the Marina, the government imposed several strict rules for its conduct.
