AIADMK’s boycott of Vikravandi Bypoll is to help DMK: TTV

The AIADMK’s decision to boycott the upcoming Vikravandi assembly bypoll on July 10 has sparked varied reactions from political parties across the state. The announcement by AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has been met with both shock and criticism.
The VCK expressed surprise at the AIADMK’s move, suggesting that it appears to be a pattern aimed at aiding fascist forces. VCK leaders conveyed their concerns over the implications of such a boycott on the democratic process.
On the other hand, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran was outspoken in his criticism of Palaniswami. Speaking to reporters in Manamadurai, Sivaganga district, on Monday, Dhinakaran asserted that Palaniswami’s decision stemmed from a fear of losing the election.
“The AIADMK general secretary is apprehensive about the prospects of losing the Vikravandi bypoll,” Dhinakaran stated. He highlighted that the bypoll is shaping up to be a significant contest between the ruling DMK and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the PMK fielding its candidate under the NDA banner. Dhinakaran also confirmed that AMMK cadres would actively campaign for the NDA candidate’s victory in Vikravandi.
Reflecting on his own political journey, Dhinakaran took pride in his performance in the Theni Lok Sabha constituency. “Despite not distributing money to voters, I managed to garner three lakh votes in Theni,” he remarked, emphasizing his party’s grassroots support and dedication.
