Chennai: Marriott International has launched India’s first Sheraton resort property with Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa at Vadanamelli Village, near here.
Launched on Tuesday, the resort, spread over 10 acres of land, has 125 guest rooms and amenities like kids club, fitness studio, an all-day dining restaurant called ‘Reef’, apart fromo a spa.
Speaking during the launch, general manager, Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa, Shibil Malik said, “I see a lot of potential for this resort to become a premium destination. Our resort offers exciting services for our guests.”
Shibil then explained about the architecture of the resort. “We have designed this resort keeping in mind four pillars,” he said. “They are the sun, sand, sea and with a touch of South Indian architecture. Every part of the resort’s design has this four distinct aspects. The resort has almost 50 per cent of the rooms facing the sea. There are also rooms that face the crocodile bank and guests can view the enclosures of crocodiles right from the balconies.”
“The resort is also a perfect place for a wedding. We hope it soon becomes a wedding destination hub,” Shibil added.
The resort has ‘Pelican Deck’ an open-air grill and barbecue restaurant offering European and Mediterranean cuisine, while ‘Pintali Lounge’ – the in-house lounge bar offers guests a varied range of wine.
