Chennai: The US Consulate General in Chennai is conducting an essay contest for college and university students in Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The contest will run until 26 August.
The theme for the essay contest is ‘Portrayal of gender in media and entertainment.’Ā Essay should not exceed 250 words and should be written in English. Entry is free, a press release said.
Students can send their essays to [email protected] with the subject line, ‘Flash Essay Contest -2018.’
Submissions will be judged by a panel. The top three essays will be published in a English newspaper. Participants will receive a certificate and be invited to a panel discussion at the American Centre.
