BIRIYANI
There is no one who can avoid this yummy, aromatic, spicy and tasty dish. Made in various combinations, the humble biriyani is liked by elders and children. A popular dish in Islamic households, biriyani is prepared nowadays in many houses. Each State in the country has its own variant. Served with curry and raita, it is a treat for everyone and in the city, a biriyani stall can be seen at almost every street corner, with the vendor banging the vessel with the ladle while serving the customer.
CHAAT
A household name now, chaat is common with youngsters. Stopping to bite into piping hot samosa or kachori, served with sweet and tangy sauces, these dishes are best as evening snacks. Apart from them, people opt for pani puri on the go. The dough balls stuffed with mashed potato, thinly cut onions and chillies is dunked into spicy liquid concoction and served. ATHO
A native dish of Burma, it has steadily increased its patrons. The outlet serves traditional noodles either in veg or meat form. The orange-coloured noodles is gently mixed with either cabbage and carrots or chicken and served hot to hungry customers. Sometimes, one can also try adding a spoonful of plantain stem (vazhathandu) soup to the noodles to give it an extra new flavour. Apart from the noodles, stuffed egg is another hit.
