Chennai: The Chennai Port has recorded a landmark performance by handling Clay of 5620 Tonnes, in a single day on 14 October.
A statement from the port said that the clay was imported from the vessel M V Phuong Nam 1 at JD 2. The current achievement surpassed the previous record of 5433 tonnes imported from the vessel M V Orchid at JD 4 on 12 May 2017. Chairman, Chennai Port Trust, congratulated the clay importer M/s GIMPEX Private Limited and their Stevedore M/s B L Transport, for the record.
