Chennai: Film director Atlee has come forward to donate his organs during the launch of District Annettes Council’s (DAC) organ donation drive here on Wednesday.
Rotary International District 3232 conducted their entertainment extravaganza event, Diya 2018, at Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Mylapore.
Annettes are children of Rotarians led by Annettes’ chairman Latha Kamalesh.
Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd Chairman and Managing Director B Chandramohan was the chief guest for the event, while Atlee and his wife Priya were the guest of honour and gave away awards to the performers.
Launching DAC’s organ donation drive, Atlee also became its first organ donor. On the occasion, DAC presented Young Achievement Award to Agni Group of Companies vice-chairman Agnishwar Jayaprakash for his efforts for E7ham Arivu and Ignite India movement.
Indian Idol runner-up Nithyashree Venkataramanan, Bigboss fame Ramya N S K, Dannial Anie Pope, motivational speaker Arul Mani and singer Athiveerapandian participated.
