Chennai: Miscreants hurled a stone at an MTC bus, damaging its windshield, yesterday at Kodambakkam High Road.
According to a complaint to the police, bus driver M Vadivelu of Kattupakkam said he was driving MTC bus route No. 26 from Broadway to Iyyapanthangal.
At 11.55 pm, he reached the Palm Grove Hotel bus stand with around 20-25 passengers. The passengers were de-boarding the bus when a stone hit the windshield, shattering it. He said the stone hit the glass from the right.
He saw a group of men standing near a teashop opposite the bus stand flee the spot after the incident.
The passengers of the bus were shifted to another bus. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the Teynampet police. The police are examining the footage of three CCTV cameras that are installed at the spot.
