Chennai: In an attempt to create awareness about lysosomal storage disorders, Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children (ICH&HC) and Lysosomal Storage Disorders Support Society (LSDSS), are organising a programme on the hospital premises tomorrow.

Speaking about it, Hospital Director, Dr A T Arasar Seeralar, said, “There are around seven types of lysosomal storage disorder and at ICH, we have 24 patients registered with us. As part of the event, there would be health check-up and doctors would shed light about the enzyme-deficient rare disease.”

The hospital performs pre-natal screening for pregnant mothers to detect disorders in the fetus and it has partnered with pharma companies for carrying out studies and diagnosis.
