Bollywood ace producer and director K C Bokadia’s debut venture in Tamil is titled Rocky. A crime thriller, the movie features Srikanth and Eshanya in the lead. There is a dog called ‘Rocky’ around which the whole story revolves.
According to Bokadia, “Srikanth will be seen as an honest police officer in the film. The story is inspired from my own 1985 Bollywood hit Teri Meherbaniyan, which had Jackie Shroff and Poonam Dhillon as the lead pair and a dog in a crucial role. I have changed the script of the murder mystery to go well with the sensibilities of southern audiences.”
Nassar, Brahmanandham, Sayaji Shinde, O A K Sundar, Karate Raja are also in the supporting cast.
Music is by Bappi Lahiri and Charan Arjun and cinematography is by Azmal Khan. The movie will hit the screens 12 April.
Boladia adds, “In my career, I have made about four films with animals — Main Tera Dushman, Paap Ka Ant, Teri Meherbaniyan, Kundan — and all of them have been hits; nothing has misfired. There are dog lovers in all parts of the country.”
Srikanth is quite a talented artiste and I feel his potential hasn’t been exploited well before, he says, and adds, “We’ve shot the film in Chennai, Mumbai, Kulu Manali, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Udaipur and Hyderabad. Every film is like a first film for me. A filmmaker is known by his last film. So, I’ve given it my best. I think this will be the best film of my career.”
“Making a film is a creative process and you have to do justice to it,” he adds.
