Devotees share exclusive Amarnath yatra pictures


New Delhi: Even while the annual Amarnath yatra is two months away, a set of devotees have claimed to have visited the shrine on April fourth week.

“The size of ‘Shivling’ is huge this year and snow up to 10-15 feet height line the way to the cave,” claimed the pilgrims who were a group of eight that visited the place between 20 and 25 April.

In addition to which, they shared the exclusive photos of the cave that are believed to have taken four days ago.

Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) that manages the yatra are yet to visit the cave and till date, there has been no official confirmation with regards to the devotees visiting the shrine.

The tour that spans across 46 days will begin 1 July (Masik Shivratri) on twin routes – traditional Pahalgam track in Anantnag and the shorter Baltal track in Ganderbal district. It will end on Shravan Purnima that falls on 15 August. It may be noted that the registration started on 2 April through 440 designated branches of the Punjab National Bank, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank and the YES Bank, located in 32 states and union territories.

In addition to manual registration, SASB has given a nod for doing it online for a limited number of devotees on a day. The board had stated that a total of 7,500 pilgrims would be travelling per day on each route that excludes the one travelling on helicopters who would have to register in advance.
Children below 13 years and elders above 75 years of age and pregnant women more than six weeks are not permitted to take the tour.
