Chennai: With the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) to be held tomorrow, aspiring medicos are giving all their hearts and let their efforts decide the future. Students should learn about time management, what to attempt first and what to reserve in the last place.
Speaking on that note, FIITJEE Medical Programmes course coordinator, Dr P V Ramachandran, said, “Students must solve Biology questions first as they can easily score 360 marks. 90 per cent of the paper would be direct ones and the rest 10 per cent can easily be solved if developed their intelligence quotient.”
He advised of solving the easy and direct questions after completion of Biology portion. “The candidates usually make the mistake of attempting the difficult ones first that consumes a lot of time. At the end, they lose out on the easy questions where they can easily gain marks,” Ramachandran added.
Pointing out to yet another mistake, he noted, “Children should shade the appropriate circles while attempting multiple choice questions. They tend to gain negative marks even if they miss a single question. Answers in the Physics section, should always be worked out instead of by-hearting.”
Experts state that students revise the important topics rather than studying a new chapter when they do not have enough time.
“It is imperative to go through National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) line-by-line. Students should pay as much attention to the syllabus and practice diagrams and graphs. Revision of the notes taken during preparation is essential,” said FIITJEE Medical Programmes senior professor in-charge, Surinder Tiwari.
He further elaborated on the need to have a formulae book and practicing NEET mock papers.
