I want to be part of good scripts. I am ready to do the lead role in any bio-pic, says actress Shruthi Haasan.Speakung on the sets of Laabam near Chennai, the actress says, ‘It is a meaty role for me in the movie. It has come good’.
Produced by Arumuga Kumar and directed by SP Jananathan, the movie stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role.
‘Laabam is an interesting story. It is about social causes. Jana sir initially had qualms about how I would fit into this story because I play a modern girl. I play a role that involves social media and the cash flow involved in it. As you would see in today’s world, reputation is based on the number of followers on social media. That is what this movie would talk about’.
Says Shruthi, ‘I spent my lockdown days in Mumbai and my pet cat was my only friend. I spent those days with good music’.
Asked if she will be part of Rajkamal Films’ next movie, she says, ‘It is for my dad ( Kamal Haasan) to decide. The script should decide it’.
She adds, ‘ I am a believer. Though my dad is not. I offer prayers for Lord Murugan, who is my favourite’.
Asked whether Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan would come together on screen again, Shruthi sats, ‘ I actually don’t know. But I wish thay happens.’
About politics, Shruthi says, ‘You should know well about politics if you want to try your hands at it’.
