Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami on Thursday slammed actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan, for “spoiling families through his Bigg Boss show”.
Addressing the press after conducting review meetings in Ariyalur, the Chief Minister said, “He has joined a political party only recently after retiring. What does he know? He is 70 and he is hosting Bigg Boss. What will happen if a man hosting Bigg Boss enters politics? Not one family in the State will be good if they watch the show”.
“He is not a man with an ambition to do good for the country but he just wants to spoil happy families. If you watch that show, even children and families will get spoilt,” he added.
Referring to Kamalās earlier statement of wanting to carry forward former Chief Minister MGRās legacy, Palaniswami said, “How could he fulfill MGR’s dream? Make songs that inculcate good values in people, as MGR did in his movies. Has he made one movie with songs about social change? If one sees his movies, that family is finished”.
The Chief Minister went on to add, “Shows can be conducted on the Indian rivers interlinking project, Tamilnadu green farm project, new technologies in farming, shows for the school students or releasing meaningful songs like the former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran”.
Kamal, on the other hand, reacted to the Chief Ministerās comments with a tweet stating, “Nice to know CM sees Bigg Boss”.
While there was speculation earlier that MNM might align with the ruling AIADMK for the upcoming polls, the recent war of words between the two leaders proves otherwise.
