Chennai: A signing ceremony was held at the official residence of the Consul-General of Japan in Chennai to award a $90,841 grant for the construction of a school for children with special needs in Rajapalayam.
The grant was provided through the Japanese government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) and will be implemented by Ritham Charitable Trust, a Rajapalayam-based non-governmental organisation supporting physically and mentally challenged children.
Taga Masayuki, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, said, “We are pleased to cooperate with Ritham through GGP in its educational assistance for children with special needs and contribution to local communities.”
