32 trains cancelled due to Cyclone Yaas

Chennai: The Southern Railway has announced cancellation of 32 trains to various destinations and also trains passing through the Southern Railway, in view of the Cyclone Yaas.

A Railway release said the Nagercoil-Shalimar was cancelled Sunday and the Shalimar-Nagercoil express on 26 May.

Howrah-Kanniyakumari express was cancelled on Monday and the Howrah-Dr.MGR Chennai Central was cancelled from 24 to 26 May.

The Dr MGR Chennai Central-Howrah train was also cancelled from 24 to 26 May. The Shalimar-Thiruvananthapuram express was cancelled on 25 May, while the Ernakulam-Patna train was cancelled on 24 and 25 May. The Patna-Ernakulam express was cancelled on 27 and 28 May.

The Tiruchirappalli-Howrah express was cancelled on 25 May and in the return direction on 27 May.

The Santragachi-Dr MGR Chennai Central train was cancelled on Tuesday and in the return direction on 27 May.

The New Tinsukia-Tambaram express was cancelled on Monday and in the return direction on 27 May.

The Jasidih-Tambaram train was cancelled on 26 May and in the return direction on 29 May.

The Thiruvananthapuram-Silchar Express was cancelled on 25 May, while Dr MGR Chennai Central-New Jalpaiguri express was cancelled on 26 May and in the return direction on 28 May.

The Bhubaneswar-Dr MGR Chennai Central was cancelled on 27 May and in the return direction on 28 May.

The Puducherry-Howrah express was cancelled on 26 May. The Railway also announced cancellation of ten trains passing through the Souther Railway system.
