Covid-19: India records 29,689 new cases and 415 deaths


New Delhi: After 132 days, India’s Coronavirus daily cases have come down below 30,000.

According to Union Health Ministry data updated this morning, the country’s records 29,689 fresh Covid-19 cases, thus pushing the total tally to 3,14,40,951 today.

The death toll climbed to 4,21,382 with 415 daily fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The active cases have declined to 3,98,100 and as many as 17,20,110 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Monday, taking the total number of tests conducted so far to 45,91,64,121.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,06,21,469 and the total number of vaccine doses administered so far has reached 44.19 crore under the nationwide vaccination drive.

India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It went past 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, crossed 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and surpassed the one-crore mark on 19 December. India crossed the grim milestone of 2 crore on 4 May and 3 crore on 23 June.
