Chennai: To mark Bharathiyar’s 100th death anniversary, a book titled ‘Paamaran Paarvaiyil Bharathi’ written by ‘Isai Kavi’ Ramanan has been released.
The book is a compilation of the notes about Bharathi that Ramanan had prepared for his speeches in the show ‘Maadham Thorum Maha Kavi’ hosted by Sevalaya Murali and Ramakrishna’s Madhuradhwani.
In an interview with ‘News Today’, Ramanan shares about the book and his journey so far. “This is my 35th book but first about Bharathiyar. I can proudly say that I know about Bharathiyar more than anyone else. However, I am at a loss of words whenever I try to speak about him. This is why I have named the book ‘Paamaran Paarvaiyil Bharathi’ (Bharathi from a common man’s view). I am the common man here,” he said.
Ramanan said that the book contains essays about various aspects of Bharathiyar. “It is my devotion and love for Bharathiyar that made me compile this book. The book contains essays about various aspects of Bharathi. I just wanted to share the notes that I took for the ‘Maadham Thorum Maha Kavi’ programme with others which has resulted in this 212 pages book,” he said.
Speaking about how relevant Bharathiyar is in the present scenario, Ramanan said to know oneself people should know Bharathiyar.
“A person cannot know about others if they do not know about him/herself. Bharathiyar is someone who lived like us. He had faced several hurdles but he stayed honest, motivated and highly spirited. Knowing about him alone will give the same spirit and virtues to the readers,” he added.
He further said that by understanding Bharathiyar people will come to know what real bravery is.
Speaking about his future plans, Ramanan said that his next book ‘Eeesavarsha Upanishad’ will be published by Vanathi Publication.
“Apart from this ‘Kambar Dharisanam’ which is a compilation of essays about Kambar, stage plays about ‘Panchali Sabatham’ and ‘Silapathikaram’ are also ready. They will also be released at the right time,” he added.
The ‘Paamaran Paarvaiyil Bharathi’ book is published by Thamarai Brothers.
