Chennai: For the second consecutive day, Tamilnadu reported less than 100 Covid-19 cases. While 86 persons tested positive for the infection across the State, 14 of 38 districts had zero fresh cases on Monday.
As many as 33 cases were recorded in Chennai, 11 in Coimbatore, and six in Chengalpet. Ariyalur, Dindigul, Karur, Krishnagiri, Mayiladuthurai, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Ranipet, Tenkasi, Theni, Thoothukudi, Trichy and Villpuram recorded no fresh cases.
On Monday, 198 Covid patients were admitted to hospitals and among them, 30 were in the intensive care units across the State. There were 37 people hospitalised in Chennai, 16 each in Coimbatore and Madurai, 15 patients in Tirupur and 14 in Salem.
The Stateās positivity rate stood at 0.2 per cent. As per Sundayās data, Chennai had the highest positivity rate of 0.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Puducherry continued to record zero cases and casualties.
On Monday, 52,175 people above the age of 15 years took the vaccine at the government vaccination centres.
