Stalin’s busy day in Dubai

Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who landed in Dubai Thursday evening, was accorded a warm welcome.

Consul General of India in Dubai Aman Puri received the Chief Minister. He is in Dubai for a series of programmes, including opening the Tamilnadu pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2022. This is Stalin’s first overseas trip after assuming charge as the Chief Minister.

Arrangements have been made for Stalin’s meeting with the Ministers of several sectors, including foreign trade, chief executive officers of the leading industries and representatives of the trade and industrial bodies to attract investments to Tamilnadu, said an official release.
Mega deals are to be signed during the visit, it is said. Reports said the Chief Minister would be meeting Mohammed AI Wadaey, CEO of Group of Farabi Petrochemicals; Azad Moopen, chairman and managing director of Aster DM Healthcare; Hadi Badri, CEO of Emaar Properties and H.E. Sharafuddin Sharaf, vice-chairman of the Sharaf Group.

He will meet the UAE investors council along with Indian business and professional groups. Top 60 persons from the business fraternity have been invited.

The Chief Minister is accompanied by Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu, Additional Chief Secretary-industries S Krishnan and Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau Managing Director Pooja Kulkarni.

A team from Guidance, the nodal agency instrumental in bringing investments into Tamilnadu, will be present at Tamilnadu Pavilion. The Chief Minister along with his business delegation will also be visiting the Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone.

At Abu Dhabi, Stalin would meet Khaled AI Qubaisi, CEO of real estate and infrastructure investments at Mubadala and Abdulla Mohammed AI Mazroeui, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber, Federation of UAE Chamber and Arab Chamber. A brief meeting with Mohammed AI Suwaidi, CEO of ADQ, is also on his schedule.

As many as 192 countries have taken part in the six-month-long Dubai Expo that commenced in October last. The expo is expected to receive 2.5 crore footfalls.

Stalin is scheduled to meet members of the Tamil diaspora.
