Defending champion Iga Swiatek raced into her fourth quarter-final of the French Open after getting a first set walkover from Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko. Tsurenko’s trouble with breathing caused her to first take a medical break for 5 minutes and then forced her to retire from the game. The Polish champion looked in menacing touch once again racing to 4-0 in the first 20 minutes of the Fourth Round game. That’s when the Ukrainian started showing signs of breathing issues and was forced to call in a doctor to help her. World No. 6 and prodigiously talented Holger Rune was able to shake off his rustiness against World No. 23 Francisco Cerundolo pulling off a major comeback win in a four-set encounter. Standing on the brink of getting knocked out in the fourth set, Rune broke the Argentine’s spirits to take home a tough win. Chatrier, Coco Gauff dished out a dominant performance to reach the quarter-final of the competition for the third straight time. Coco Gauff looked in complete control in the opening set as she raced to a 5-2 lead against Anna Karolina. However, she allowed her opponent to claw back into the contest at 5-5. The 19-year-old was serving for the opening set at 5-4 when she lost focus and conceded a break. However, she broke back immediately and held her serve to love to win the opening set. Coco Gauff was in sixth gear in the second set as did not allow her opponent any chances, racing to a straight sets victory in an hour and 32 minutes.
