Inter Milan extends Inzaghi’s contract until 2026

Milan, July 13: Simone Inzaghi, aged 48, has committed his future to Serie A giants Inter Milan by signing a contract extension that will see him remain as head coach until 2026. Joining the club in 2021 following the departure of Antonio Conte, Inzaghi quickly made his mark, guiding Inter to their 20th league title this season. His leadership has been marked by success, including three Italian Supercups and two Italian Cups, along with a memorable run to the Champions League final in 2023.

Under Inzaghi’s tenure, Inter Milan have dominated Serie A, finishing 19 points ahead of rivals AC Milan to clinch the league title with five games to spare this year. Despite early exits from the Champions League and Italian Cup last season, Inter’s domestic performance under Inzaghi has been formidable, boasting 29 wins, seven draws, and just two defeats in the league.

The contract extension comes amidst a change in ownership for Inter Milan, with US fund Oaktree taking over from Chinese group Suning. This move follows financial challenges faced by Suning, underscoring Inzaghi’s ability to maintain stability and success during a transitional period for the club.
