Tungsten mining will not happen, assures Annamalai

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has firmly stated that a tungsten mining project will not be permitted in Madurai and has expressed his readiness to join protests if such a project is initiated.

Speaking at an event, Annamalai urged the public to promote reading habits by introducing children to book fairs. He also addressed the ongoing concerns among farmers in Madurai regarding the proposed tungsten mining project.

“Tungsten mining will not happen in Madurai. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has already assured us of this. There is no possibility of such a project being implemented,” Annamalai said. He further added, “If, by any chance, such a project proceeds, I am ready to sit with you and protest. What more can I say to reassure you?”

Annamalai criticized other political parties, accusing them of instigating unnecessary fear among the public. “The Union Government has made its stance clear, yet some political parties are fueling anxiety. Why is the Chief Minister hesitant to visit Madurai? Shouldn’t he send Deputy Chief Minister or Kanimozhi to address the concerns?” he asked.

Reiterating his position, Annamalai stated, “We have said that the project will not happen. The Central Government has given its word, and I stand by it. If anyone still doubts this, I am prepared to join the fight on the ground.”
