DMK to hold protest meetings against Centre on Mar 12

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has announced that it will organize statewide protest meetings on March 12 against the Central government.
According to a statement released by the party, the decision was made during an all-party meeting on March 5, presided over by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The meeting strongly opposed the BJP-led Central government’s alleged move to reduce Tamil Nadu’s political representation under the guise of Lok Sabha constituency delimitation. The parties resolved to raise awareness among the people about the potential negative impact of this restructuring and to form a joint action committee with other affected states.
The DMK also aims to educate people on the imposition of Hindi under the so-called “three-language policy”, which it considers an attempt to enforce linguistic dominance.
The protest meetings will be led by district secretaries, with the participation of Members of Parliament, MLAs, local DMK leaders, and cadres from various party wings. The party has urged all its functionaries, including urban, rural, and union-level office bearers, to ensure large-scale participation and make the meetings a success.
