Senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday criticised the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), saying the party has become the “captain of a sinking ship” by aligning with the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
Reacting to the DMDK’s decision to join the DMK-led alliance, she said the move was disappointing and against the principles upheld by the party’s founder, Vijayakanth. She questioned the rationale behind the alliance and suggested that the DMDK was weakening its independent political identity.
Tamilisai further alleged that the DMK government has been facing growing public dissatisfaction and claimed that opposition parties would strongly challenge it in the upcoming Assembly elections.
