Chief Minister M. K. Stalin attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party and its alliance with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, declaring that Tamil Nadu’s “superfast engine” would never bow before the BJP’s “dabba engine.”
Speaking at a party conference in Coimbatore, Stalin called the AIADMK-BJP tie-up a “circus” led by the BJP and termed it an opportunistic alliance formed only for elections. He accused AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami of betrayal for aligning with the BJP and urged cadre to defeat such forces.
Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his praise for J. Jayalalithaa, Stalin said the BJP had failed to deliver major benefits to Tamil Nadu despite being in power for 12 years. He alleged that the Centre was withholding funds and delaying key projects, including Metro Rail expansions and the proposed Hosur airport, to create an “artificial financial crisis” in the State.
