Chennai, June 1:
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) IT Wing on Monday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, accusing him of failing to take responsibility for governance lapses and attempting to shift blame onto previous administrations.
In a statement posted on social media, the party alleged that despite holding the highest office in the state, the Chief Minister was unwilling to accept accountability for his government’s shortcomings. It further argued that merely appointing police officials would not be enough to address law-and-order issues and raised concerns over public safety.
Referring to Vijay’s remarks on women’s safety, the AIADMK claimed that the Chief Minister was deflecting responsibility by blaming earlier regimes, while failing to address the current situation. The opposition party asserted that such an approach did not reflect the change promised during the election campaign.
Rejecting Vijay’s allegation of a conspiracy to prevent his rise to power, the AIADMK described the claim as baseless. It also questioned his silence on allegations of attempts to lure opposition MLAs and said his real challenge lay in fulfilling electoral promises rather than engaging in political rhetoric.
