The Tamil film industry and the State plunged into mourning following the demise of legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja, with Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay leading tributes and announcing a ceremonial state farewell in recognition of his towering contribution to cinema.
Bharathiraja, fondly known as Iyakkunar Imayam, passed away in Chennai at the age of 84, marking the end of an era that redefined Tamil filmmaking with realism and rural storytelling.
