‘The team of Dorothy, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and starring Rishikanth, Sananth and Keerthy Suresh, held a thanksgiving event following the film’s positive response from audiences and critics.
Karthik Subbaraj said cinema was a powerful medium capable of changing people’s minds and expressed hope that Dorothy would change the way society views the transgender community. He described this as the film’s biggest success and also a personal achievement. He thanked music maestro Ilaiyaraaja for blessing the film with his music and said “Thiru sir” was another hero of the film.
Directors Vasanthabalan, Sasi, Lingusamy and Mysskin, along with actor and producer representatives, praised the film for its sensitive portrayal of the transgender community. Mysskin said Dorothy had elevated the community and praised Rishikanth and Sananth for breaking the conventional mass-hero template. The team thanked audiences for their support.
