Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, one of the prominent educational institutions under the Vishva Hindu Vidya Kendra (Regd.), during his hectic one-day visit to Chennai on October 11.
The main event is expected to witness the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including the Prime Minister, Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, and Minister for School Education A.Rajmohan, among others.
The landmark 50th anniversary fete to be held at the sprawling Chennai Trade Centre, will bring together a large community of students, parents, educators, alumni and well-wishers.

“The main reason for Mr Modi accepting our invitation is his âMann Ki Baatâ programme, which drew the attention of our school and inspired us to follow the message. Subsequently, the school community, deeply imbibed with the spirit of desha bhakti, collected Re.1 per day for 365 days from 10,000 students, 600 teachers and 250 non-teaching staff members. The amount was handed over to Army personnel at an event held in Nagercoil in the presence of the Prime Minister. It is also noteworthy that, during the schoolâs Silver Jubilee celebrations, the then Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was the chief guest”, a release from the school said today. .
The celebration is expected to bring together around 4,000 participants, including students and parents representing the 15 group schools under Vishva Hindu Vidya Kendra, making it a significant gathering of the institutionâs extended educational community.
The Golden Jubilee marks five decades of the schoolâs journey in nurturing generations of students through a blend of academic excellence, discipline, cultural values and holistic education through its motto Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye which meansâThat is true knowledge which leads to liberation.â and to be a worthwhile individual to the society.

The 50-year milestone is also an occasion to acknowledge the major contribution of alumni, teachers, staff, parents and the wider school community who have played an integral role in the institutionâs growth and legacy.
