
Chennai: As part of the Arignar Anna Zoological Park (commonly known as Vandalur zoo) exchange programme, a pair of white tigers, Indian gaur (male), lion-tailed macaque (male) and a pair of Nilgiri langurs from here were sent to Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden (SCZG), Mysuru.
A press release said animals received in exchange from Mysore zoo are under medical care. They are in quarantine now.
“The veterinary doctors are continuously monitoring these animals. After three weeks of monitoring, the animals will be displayed as public exhibit,” the release stated.
The animals received from SCZG, Mysuru, are: two pairs of striped hyena, one male Indian gaur, a pair of Lady Amherst pheasant, jackal, golden pheasant, Sarus cane, black swan, Eclectus Parrot.
