CPCL observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Chennai:Β  “It is not sufficient if one is honest, it should be demonstrated by being transparent,” said managing director, CPCL, S N Pandey at the inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week at the company’s corporate office in Teynampet 29 October.

The week-long observance will be on till 3 November. Pandey, unveiled a special poster prepared for the occasion.

In his inaugural address, he explained how corruption undermines economic and social development of the people, that public must be sensitized and motivated for their active participation in anti-corruption efforts and that all stakeholders must strive to eradicate corruption in their sphere of activities.

He elaborated on the various measures taken by CPCL for ensuring, transparency, accountability and integrity. CPCL director of operations, G Aravindan explained the importance of observing Vigilance Awareness Week every year and the lead taken by CPCL by adopting e-governance, e-procurement, electronic payment and so on.

Technical director, Srikanthan administered the ‘Integrity Pledge’ to the employees and Rajeev Ailawadi, emphasized the need for adhering to procedures and need for standardization of contracts and purchases. DGM vigilance, A S Rajkumar proposed a vote of thanks.
