Around 140 people took part in the free general health camp conducted at the Maruthi Nagar Social Welfare Association in partnership with Hindu Mission Hospital, Madambakkam Traders Welfare Association and Noothancheri Lions Club.
A member of the association, A Sachidanandham, said, “Almost all the medical check-ups including general, eye, ear, nose, throat, skin were provided during the camp. Considering the recent outbreak of several diseases, nilavembu potion was also distributed to residents on the occasion.”
Four members were also taken up for free cataract surgery at the Hindu Mission Hospital. “Apart from the operation cost, food, stay and spectacles’ expenses were waived. This is said to be the 917th camp organised by the hospital,” he added.
