Chennai: Burglars struck at the house of a retired professor at Keelkattalai, Madipakkam last night.
According to police, Mohammed Harif (61) had gone to visit his relative. When he returned home, he found the locked door broken open and 18 sovereigns of gold missing. He lodged a complaint with the Madipakkam police.
Meanwhile, police arrested one person in connection with burglary at a house at AGC Colony, Velacheri.
Jabasingh, the resident lodged a complaint with police stating that burglars looted his laptop and two mobile phones on 2 November.
Police registered a case and arrested Prashanth (29) from Uthiramerur, Kanchipuram on Sunday.
