Chennai:The Tamilnadu government today released an order for issuing Rs 25 lakh as solatium to family members of 28 frontline workers who lost their lives in the fight against Covid-19.
As per a decision taken by the government recently, the G.O was issued today. The solatium will be given to all those who lost their lives while working frontline against coronavirus. The list includes civic workers too.
Meanwhile, data collected by the Tamilnadu unit of Indian Medical Association has revealed that twenty doctors in the State have succumbed to the coronavirus since March.
As per the data, among the deceased doctors, most of them were general medical practitioners from Chennai, Madurai and other southern districts. The number of deaths was lower in the western districts of the State.
According to IMA State secretary AK Ravikumar, doctors above the age of 50 are more vulnerable.
