Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin today said that the Central government is not thinking about farmers or people.
Taking part in the one-day fast in Chennai in support of farmers protesting against the Farm Bills, Stalin said BJP and AIADMK governments are against the welfare of the people.
“They used Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse and passed the three Farms Bills in a hurry. They don’t care for people and only support and encourage corporates and give many subsidies to them. India is in an agitative mode, particularly in Delhi. BJP government is doing drama in the name of discussion,” he said.
He also invited all the alliance party members of DMK to take part in the protest.
Stalin further said that the protest will continue if the Central government does not take back the farm bills.
Stalin and other senior members of the DMK took part in the protest wearing a green mask at Valluvar Kottam. Leaders of DMK’s alliance parties like Vaiko, Mutharasan, Balakrishnan, Thirumavalavan and Velmurugan also took part in the protest.
