With the onset of the Northeast monsoon season looming, Chief Minister M K Stalin took the reins of preparedness in a comprehensive meeting held at the secretariat. The gathering, which included senior ministers like K N Nehru, minister of municipal administration and water supply, addressed critical aspects of readiness to mitigate potential challenges posed by the upcoming monsoon. As the state anticipates heavy rains and possible flooding during the northeast monsoon, Chief Minister Stalin’s proactive approach to disaster management has garnered attention. During the meeting, he diligently assessed various key factors that would play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Tamil Nadu’s citizens. One of the primary concerns addressed by the chief minister was the progress of stormwater drain projects. Efficient stormwater drainage systems are essential to prevent waterlogging and flooding in urban areas. By inquiring about the status of these projects, Stalin emphasized the importance of infrastructure in managing heavy rainfall.
