In a fiery campaign speech, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the state sports minister and DMK youth wing leader, launched a blistering assault against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led central government. Addressing supporters in Chennai South constituency, Udhayanidhi asserted that neither Modi nor the Enforcement Directorate (ED) could intimidate the DMK, unlike the AIADMK.
Accusing the BJP of using central agencies to intimidate political opponents, Udhayanidhi condemned their attempts to subjugate regional parties. He declared, “In the last ten years, they unleashed the ED, CBI, and IT to enslave the AIADMK. The BJP intends to enslave us too. Will we be frightened? Neither Modi nor ED or his daddy will frighten us. We are prepared for anything.”
Asserting the demands of the DMK, Udhayanidhi emphasized the party’s call for respect and the fulfillment of promises, including the establishment of AIIMS, scrapping of NEET, and CAA. He questioned the silence surrounding the CAG report, which allegedly exposed a Rs 7.5 lakh crore scam during the Modi regime.
Turning his attention to Governor R N Ravi, Udhayanidhi accused him of attempting to usurp the state’s rights, referring to him as “RSS Ravi, Sanghi Ravi.” He criticized the Governor’s address for omitting the names of prominent leaders such as Ambedkar, Periyar, Anna, and Kalaignar, alleging BJP’s covert control over the state through the Governor.
Highlighting the DMK’s dedication to public service, Udhayanidhi recalled their response during the Chennai floods, contrasting it with the alleged inaction of AIADMK members. He urged voters to hold AIADMK accountable for their absence during times of crisis.
Earlier, while campaigning for his brother Dayanidhi Maran in Central Chennai, Udhayanidhi emphasized the DMK’s commitment to serving the people and criticized AIADMK’s lack of presence during the floods. He lauded the leadership of MK Stalin, asserting that he did not resort to sycophancy to attain his position.
