Chennai woke up to a deluge this morning as heavy rains lashed several parts of the city during the early hours, accompanied by thunder and lightning. The downpour, intensified by gusty winds, led to widespread power outages across multiple areas including Tambaram, Pallavaram, Nanganallur, Guindy, Ashok Nagar, Vadapalani, T Nagar, and Koyambedu.

Residents in these localities endured hours of relentless rainfall. The drastic shift in weather also brought relief from the scorching heat that Chennai had been experiencing in recent weeks. The sudden drop in temperature provided a brief respite, albeit amidst the inconvenience caused by the heavy rainfall.

Efforts are underway to restore power in affected regions, although intermittent outages may persist until weather conditions stabilize.
