The Indian men’s hockey team delivered an impressive performance, defeating Ireland 2-0 in their third Pool B match at the Paris Olympics 2024. Held at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir, the match saw India’s captain, Harmanpreet Singh, shine as he scored both goals for the team.

Match Highlights
First Quarter: India began the game with strong, attacking play that put significant pressure on the Irish defense. In the 11th minute, Mandeep Singh was tackled roughly inside the final third, resulting in a penalty stroke. Harmanpreet Singh capitalized on this opportunity, scoring the first goal and putting India ahead 1-0.

Second Quarter: Continuing their dominance, India extended their lead in the second quarter. Harmanpreet Singh struck again, converting the fourth penalty corner of the match to bring the score to 2-0. The Indian team maintained tight defense, preventing Ireland from creating any substantial scoring opportunities in the first 30 minutes.

India’s victory over Ireland solidifies their strong position in Pool B as they advance further in the tournament. The team’s performance, especially the leadership and scoring prowess of Harmanpreet Singh, has been commendable, showcasing their readiness and competitive spirit at the Paris Olympics.
