During a recent Investors Conclave held in San Francisco, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin witnessed the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with six major global technology firms. These agreements, valued at â‚č900 crore, are set to bolster the state’s technological infrastructure and create approximately 4,100 jobs across various regions.
The Finnish telecom giant Nokia has committed to establishing a new fixed network Research and Development (R&D) lab at Siruseri. This project, involving an investment of â‚č450 crore, is poised to be the largest of its kind for Nokia’s fixed networks division.
Payments technology leader PayPal plans to invest in setting up an advanced development centre in Tamil Nadu focused on artificial intelligence (AI). This facility is expected to generate around 1,000 new job opportunities.
Infinx Healthcare will establish a technology delivery centre in Madurai with an investment of â‚č50 crore, potentially creating 700 jobs in the region.
Applied Materials, renowned for its semiconductor and display equipment, will develop an AI-based technology centre aimed at semiconductor manufacturing and equipment. Additionally, Microchip Technology has announced a â‚č250 crore investment to set up an R&D centre for semiconductor technology in Chennai.
Yield Engineering Systems, known for its manufacturing processing equipment, will invest â‚č150 crore to create a product development and manufacturing facility for semiconductor equipment in Coimbatore.
