In a significant political development in Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. The appointment comes as part of a reshuffle within the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, aimed at strengthening its governance and administration.

Alongside Udhayanidhi’s elevation, four other DMK legislators were sworn in as cabinet ministers by Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Sunday. The newly inducted ministers are V Senthil Balaji, R Rajendran, Govi Chezhiaan, and S M Nasar.

Key Appointments:
V. Senthil Balaji (Karur Assembly Constituency): Minister for Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise

Govi Chezhiaan (Thiruvidaimarudur Assembly Constituency): Minister for Higher Education

Chezhiaan has been entrusted with the higher education portfolio, which includes technical education, electronics, and science and technology. His appointment comes at a time when Tamil Nadu is focused on expanding and modernizing its education sector.
R Rajendran (Salem North Assembly Constituency): Minister for Tourism

Rajendran will head the tourism department, which also includes sugar and sugarcane excise and development. With Tamil Nadu being a major cultural and tourism hub in India, Rajendran’s role is expected to be pivotal in further promoting tourism and contributing to the state’s economic growth.
S M Nasar (Avadi Assembly Constituency): Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare
