Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has welcomed actor and Thalapathy Vijay’s meeting with Governor R.N. Ravi, where Vijay discussed concerns over women’s safety under the DMK regime.
Vijay, leader of the Tamil Nadu Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVK), met the Governor to submit a petition addressing issues related to women’s safety, law and order, and other pressing concerns in the state.
In a social media post, Annamalai appreciated Vijay’s initiative and criticized the DMK government, stating:
“Regarding the horrific sexual assault on the Anna University student by a DMK functionary, the BJP has been consistently raising its voice against the lack of faith in the DMK government’s investigation. The conflicting statements from the police and ministers on the case have further eroded public trust in their governance.”
He continued:
“Vijay, as the leader of Tamil Nadu Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, has taken a significant step by meeting the Governor to discuss the lack of safety for women under the DMK regime. We welcome this move and urge leaders from all parties to unite and stand up against the DMK government’s attempts to derail justice. As a brother to the affected student, I call upon everyone to ensure justice is served for our sister.”
