
Russian President Vladimir Putin called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and strongly condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed on social media.
According to the MEA, Putin conveyed ‘deepest’ condolences on the loss of 26 innocent lives and expressed ‘full support to India in the fight against terrorism.’
Putin also emphasised that the perpetrators of the ‘heinous attack and their supporters must be brought to justice’ amid India’s actions against Pakistan.
The Russian embassy’s summary revealed that Putin characterised the terrorist attack as “barbaric”. Both leaders underscored the necessity for an “uncompromising fight” against all forms of terrorism, as per the summary.
