The release of actor Shanmuga Pandian’s upcoming film Padai Thalaivan, initially scheduled for May 23, 2025, has been postponed due to theatre allocation constraints. This marks the second delay for the film, which was originally slated for a Pongal release earlier this year.Shanmuga Pandian announced the postponement on his Instagram story, stating that the delay was caused by difficulties in securing adequate theatre screens. He added that the team is working to finalize a new release date, which will be announced soon.
Padai Thalaivan is directed by U. Anbu and features a screenplay and dialogues by Parthiban Desingu. The film stars Shanmuga Pandian in the lead role, alongside Yamini Chander, Kasthuri Raja, Munishkanth, and Rishi Rithvik. Set against a forest backdrop, the action-adventure film includes an AI-generated appearance of the late actor-politician Vijayakanth, Shanmuga Pandian’s father. The music is composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
