The team behind DNA, the recently released Tamil film starring Atharvaa Murali and Nimisha Sajayan, celebrated the film’s success with a thanksgiving event in Chennai. Directed by Nelson Venkatesan and produced by Jayanthi Ambethkumar under Olympia Movies, DNA has been receiving critical acclaim and audience support since its release on June 20 via Red Giant Movies.Director Nelson Venkatesan, in an emotional speech, thanked the media, audiences, and everyone involved in the film’s journey. “A film’s success today is not just about direction. It needs the right release date, marketing, and support from distributors — none of which are solely in the director’s hands. DNA is the result of collective hard work,” he said. He dedicated the film to two real-life individuals whose story inspired the characters in the film and thanked producer Ambethkumar for believing in the story.
Actress Nimisha Sajayan expressed gratitude, saying the film’s press screening gave her peace before the release. “I owe my performance to the director’s guidance. I learnt a lot from this film — especially from Atharvaa, whose dedication and support helped shape my role,” she said.
Atharvaa Murali shared his joy at the warm reception from critics and audiences alike. “I didn’t think about the box office during filming — we just focused on making a good film. When I saw an elderly woman emotionally thank me in a theatre, I felt truly rewarded,” he said.
