Madurai, Aug 16: The Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party has announced a change in the date for its second state conference. Originally planned for August 25, the conference will now be held four days earlier on August 21. The decision was made following a request from the police, who cited security concerns related to the upcoming Vinayagar Chaturthi festival. The event is set to take place in the Parabathi area, situated along the Madurai-Thoothukudi national highway.âThis conference is considered politically significant as it comes approximately eight months before the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. By holding the event in the southern districts, the party leadership, under the guidance of its leader Vijay, aims to demonstrate and consolidate its political strength in the region. The move is a key part of the party’s preparations for the upcoming electoral contest.
âIn an effort to ensure the conference’s success, the TVK leadership has taken proactive steps. In preparation for the event, five new committees have been formed to manage the various aspects of the conference. These committees will be responsible for overseeing the detailed work required to organize the large-scale gathering and ensure everything runs smoothly.
