BJP leader Annamalai criticized TVK’s campaign plan, calling it “unacceptable” that leader Vijay would meet voters only on Saturdays and Sundays.Annamalai said politics should not be limited to weekends. He believes leaders must engage with people throughout the week, especially when preparing for elections.
TVK, on the other hand, explained the choice. They said they planned weekend events to avoid traffic disruptions and help students participate. TVK leaders also added that they were ready to hold more events if they received clearer support from the police.
Earlier, Vijay, leader of the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), announced that he will launch a large election campaign across Tamil Nadu. The campaign will run from 13 September to 20 December 2025, according to reports.
Vijay will meet people in many districts through public meetings. The tour will begin on 13 September in Trichy, Perambalur, and Ariyalur. On 20 September, he will campaign in Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, and Mayiladuthurai. He will then visit Thiruvallur and North Chennai on 27 September.
In early October, Vijay will speak to voters in Coimbatore, The Nilgiris, Tiruppur, and Erode. On 11 October, he will campaign in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi. The next week, on 18 October, he will be in Kancheepuram, Vellore, and Ranipet.
On 25 October, Vijay will focus on South Chennai and Chengalpattu. In November, he will visit Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, and Tirupattur on the 1st, and Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, and Villupuram on the 8th.
The tour will continue till December, covering many more districts.
