Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has expressed confidence in his party’s impending victory in the Thiruchengode constituency. Addressing a public gathering in Namakkal district, Palaniswami emphasized that AIADMK’s success is assured, stating, “AIADMK’s victory in Thiruchengode constituency is certain.”Palaniswami criticized the ruling DMK government for its lack of development initiatives in the region, highlighting that during the AIADMK’s tenure, several welfare schemes were implemented. He also pointed out the party’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, including granting all students a pass, as a testament to AIADMK’s commitment to public welfare.
Looking ahead, Palaniswami outlined AIADMK’s proposed plans for the constituency, which include providing a ₹75,000 subsidy for auto rickshaw purchases and distributing silk sarees and dhotis under the Thali Thangam scheme. These initiatives aim to bolster the livelihoods of the people and promote cultural heritage.
As the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approach, Palaniswami’s statements underscore AIADMK’s determination to reclaim political influence in the state, particularly in constituencies like Thiruchengode.
